Easy Chevron Pot Holder Knitting Pattern

I’m sharing the Chevron Pot Holder Knitting Pattern with you today. This is such an easy pot holder knitting pattern and perfect for beginners. It knits up quickly and creates colorful, double-thick potholders.

This easy knitting pattern uses only knit and purl stitches, so it’s great for beginners.

There’s nothing I love more than adding creative, handmade items to my home. Pot holders and dishcloths are a quick and easy way to add personal touches to your kitchen.

This potholder knitting pattern uses only the knit stitch so it's perfect for beginner knitters. It is double thick and knits up quick.

Knitted pot holders are a useful kitchen accessory and a great way to practice basic knitting skills. They make thoughtful gifts and add a homemade touch to your kitchen. This pattern is simple enough for beginners and can be customized to suit your style and needs.

This is a free knitting pattern, but if you’d like it without ads and extra content, you can grab it here!

About the pattern

I used two colors of Sugar and Cream cotton yarn for this pattern. Cotton yarn is an excellent choice for pot holders because, unlike acrylic yarn, it won’t melt when it comes in contact with high heat.

This pot holder knitting pattern is double thick, so it will keep your kitchen surfaces from heat damage.

Sewing It Together

Fold the knitted piece in half. Attach the matching color of yarn to the folded corner and begin

sewing around.

Sew all the way around, attaching the end of the loop when you reach that point.

Knitting your own pot holder is a practical project and a fun way to hone your knitting skills. Whether you prefer a simple garter stitch or a double-thick stockinette design, these potholders will become a staple in your kitchen—or a great handmade gift for others. You can easily customize them with different colors, stitches, or hanging loops.
